The students, faculty and staff at James Dobson School are about to embark on an exciting journey through the Leader In Me Program. This program will introduce each of us to personal leadership and important habits to bring out the inner leader in everyone. All of us have the capacity to lead in our own lives and to impact those around us by making positive choices.
The Leader In Me provides students with activities that will help them learn practical character and life skills that will lead to those positive choices. We are sure that you will be hearing your students use the language of these habits at home, so we wanted to be sure that you were aware of what each habit is and how we will be referring to them while at school.
- Be Proactive- You Are In Charge of You
- Begin With The End In Mind- Have A Plan
- Put First Things First- Work First, Then Play
- Think Win-Win- Everyone Can Win
- Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood- Listen Before You Talk
- Synergize- Together Is Better
- Sharpen the Saw- Balance Is Best
We are so excited that courtesy of our wonderful Home & School and through efforts at Dobson School each student has had a Leader In Me T-Shirt given to them! We are going to ask that each student wear this shirt on Mondays.
Additionally, there is a “Parent’s Place” available at www.TheLeaderInMe.org. On that site you will find ideas to use at home to reinforce your child’s learning and involve the family in a fun, interactive way. Click here –> Parent’s Guide to download a copy of the Parent/Family guide to the Leader In Me. A Leader In Me Page will also be added under the Parent Resources page for your future reference.
We are so excited to integrate this program into our school and look forward to bringing out the leadership potential in each of our fabulous Dobson Students.
